      This is set in the sizzling English summer of 1976 when reservoirs dried up in the Yorkshire Dales Aken brings the setting alive so that it is one of the characters The plot deals with innocent Faith s journey into knowledge of love, but she also suffers hardship and threats on the way I read this in one sitting and know it is one of that small group of books I shall happily return to again and again I ve read it twice already Aken s delicate brush strokes of colour make the main characters memo [...]
