I had a hard time trying to write the review for this book mainly because I really try to pick tours with books I will than likely enjoy and can give a or less positive review I just cannot give it a high rating, and I hate to do this to a tour book but I cannot candy coat this without being dishonest about how lacking this book was for me The story seemed like it could not decide what it was about at all Was it a love story A story about an archaeology dig dive a terrorist group A throwback t [...]

Being a great fan of nautical archaeology, exotic settings and long lost treasures, I absolutely loved this book It is pure entertainment from start to finish I had the pleasure of reading and reviewing the first book in the series, Golden Chariot, and that was also a great read, but I have to say that this second installment was even better The relationship between the hero and heroine American archaeologist Charlotte and Turkish agent Atakan evolves and deepens and their love scenes are a lot [...]

I had read and enjoyed Golden Chariot, which is the first book in this series and provides an introduction to Charlotte and introduces Atakan and their romance In this installment can be read as a stand alone without great difficulty for the reader Karlsen again blends major plotting elements to create an action filled story While the basic plot is centered around the preservation and discovery of archaeological treasures, she has added in additional dangers and layers of ancient conflict for t [...]

There are some writers that just know how to put a damn good story down Chris is one of them I absolutely loved the first book in the series I was a little afraid that book two would fall victim to the curse of the sequel so many authors do But I was pleasantly surprised when it didn t I say surprised because you never know what to expect when you read a book authors are people too, they have good days and bad and all of that translate into their writings Anyways, back to my point This book was [...]

A bit disappointed by this bookAfter reading the first book of the series I bought this one, expecting a similar mix of history, mystery, and suspenseful intrigue with a bit of romance on the side Not so, alas This book seemed like a novella stretched to novel length by the kind of mystery porn which seems almost necessary in modern crime fiction For me, the belly dance scenes, etc were a needless distraction.

Chris pens Byzantine Gold , the sequel to Golden Chariot in a well thought out, well written plot that picks up where the first book ended As usual Chris main characters were strong with great chemistry and the introduction of new characters was nicely added in I was totally impressed that I was not disappointed in the plot and can t wait to see where she takes us next. This review is based on a complimentary copy from the author which was provided for an honest review.
