Lady Edith s husband rebelled, against her better judgement, and now a group of Vikings is at her estate, claiming ownership of everything How is Edith to save her people, and herself, or protect her heart against the warrior Brand who manages to get close to her Medieval Romance, smutty fluff and Viking Warriors in a great combo.

This was a free book from the FirstReads program There isn t much to this book It is a romance novel with the thin trappings of the Vikings in Northumbria Just not much to it Luckily it was a short read.

This was not a well written book It was choppy and the characters were flat The author used the phrase lighten up I didn t research this fact but I am pretty sure that phrase did not emerge until the 20th century.

Brand Bjornson and Edith, Lady of Breckon876, North YorkshireThis was a disappointing 2.5 star read There was no world building or real feeling of being tied to the historical era and the hero s actions and reactions just seemed contrived and unrealistic He tells the heroine repeatedly that she is no than a mistress for one year and he will marry someone else after that which given the circumstances in which they are placed together makes some sense initially , but it is his careless repetition [...]
