NO GOOD DEED is another great chapter in the storied life of Tyvian Reldamar, famous smuggler and duelist with a literal ring of good conscious bound to his finger in an effort to steer him in the right moral direction While a little narrower in scope compared to THE OLDEST TRICK, the story is just as fun and complex as the first book in the series, and with its cast of larger than life characters and a plot as quick as Tyvian s wit, it s a story you won t be quick to put down Recommended for re [...]

I didn t like this book as much as the first two perhaps it was because I let too much time elasp between reading the first two and the third I would say its a 3.5 I just find the magic is a bit to contrived and convenient at times There really isn t any continuity to its use or mastery thereof The author definitely eludes to an additional book I ll probably read it just because I m already so invested in the series If it doesn t improve though it will be my last one.

A good continuation in the series We get to meet the protagonist s mother in this one I really enjoy the author s writing style Just enough light wit and all seriousness when needed Eagerly await the next book.

I highly recommend this book No Good Deed is a compelling story that advances the overall arc of moving Tyvian farther along on his journey to redemption However, it reads well as an enjoyable stand alone story too No sopho slump here Reading book 1 is helpful to understanding the world building and character backgrounds, but the author puts enough information in to follow along if you missed book 1 or need a refresher I really liked reading about Tyvian s mis adventures with Artus, Hool, Brana [...]

Book 3 It s always those rings that you need to beware of Tyvian is stuck with a doosie on his finger Every time he lies, does something dishonorable, or attempts a hurtful action, the ring zings him until he stops This is unfortunate because up till now he s been a smuggler, con artist and even a thief In this book he sets out to return to his home city after he finds that Myreon the Defender has been framed and sentenced to statue prison He recognizes that this is a trap but needs to find why [...]

I absolutely loved this follow up to The Oldest Trick I am a sucker for stories where the mischievous, swashbuckling only out for himself character turns into the reluctant hero you know, like Han Solo, Jack Burton from Big Trouble in Little China, Malcom Reynolds from Firefly This series has that and With Tyvian s family in the mix and Myreon in trouble, Tyvian, Artus and Hool have to work together and pull some cons the best parts to come out of this one with their lives They are awesome char [...]

Enjoyed the first two books of this series fully engaging and satisfying.Thoroughly enjoyed these first two books of this series, I wait patiently for the next book in this cleverly written saga The planning, the continual chess game of feelings, expectations, magic and illusion Breathtaking in its scope and grandeur, a well thought out book which is challenging yet unpredictable, a story and plot set at breakneck speed, well done Mr Habershaw, thank you

I ordered this one immediately after finishing the previous one s which was fabulous. This one sadly isn t It s still good 3 1 2 stars , mind you, but nowhere near as good. The story meanders through the narrative as if the author sometimes does not know what to do with the characters and their motivation feels forced on occasion.Still if you enjoyed the first one s , you will very likely enjoy this as well.

Another exciting episodeTyvian Reldemar is one of the most fascinating characters I ve come across I didn t always understand the build up, but the endgame was satisfying I was glad to see all the regulars were back Artus, Hoop, Myreon, and even Brana This is a great series.

I felt the pacing was a little off in some places, but it was still a fast and enjoyable read.

An apt follow up to THE OLDEST TRICK Fans of the first novel will love the further exploration of Habershaw s fantastic setting and the implications of how and why magic is used.
